Even subtle change of preservatives and surfactants (cleansing agents) could lead to change in skin oiliness. I realised that I had increased sensitivity and redness from the toner. And that was after I have finished two bottles. After I stopped toning, my skin was better. Toners do not contain surfactants.<\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-9fde6d7\" data-block-id=\"9fde6d7\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Surfactants are cleansing agents that dislodges oil and dirt, allowing them to be washed away. But not all surfactants are created the same. Some causes increase sensitivity while some can cause the skin to&nbsp;oil up. Toners do not contain surfactants. They do not cleanse as well compared to cleansers. Serums have higher Active Concentrations than Toners.<\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-a411984\" id=\"span-style-color-var-theme-palette-color-1-846954-class-stk-highlight-2-toners-do-not-contain-surfactants-span\" data-block-id=\"a411984\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Serums are usually smaller in size and more expensive than toners, and that&#8217;s because they contain much higher concentrations of actives. A toner is mostly water with just a little active ingredient. Less actives mean less effectiveness. A serum delivers those actives properly and lets them sink in to do their work, which means your skin gets far more out of every drop.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-7a48a3d\" id=\"span-style-color-var-theme-palette-color-1-846954-class-stk-highlight-2-toners-do-not-contain-surfactants-span\" data-block-id=\"7a48a3d\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">This is why I always say less is more. One well formulated serum can do more for your skin than several lighter products layered on top. If you need hydration, use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skinlycious.com\/us\/product\/hydrating-serum\/\" type=\"product\" id=\"708\">Hydrating Serum<\/a>. In our cleanser, we have lactoserum (a milk protein) and lactic acid (naturally produced within our skin).These two ingredients stays on your skin even after you rinse with water. They are essential to balance your skin pH, preventing acne. When we have skin problems like acne, our skin is alkaline. By using our wash, it helps to balance the skin pH while cleansing gently. They work better as a cleansing step than toners. The usual double cleanse products are either oil-based, milk-based or water-based. For acne and acne-prone skin, it\u2019s best to use micellar cleansing water (now smoothing cleansing gel) as it\u2019s water-based.
