Why concentration matters: Irene’s case showed that even a small reduction in extract concentration — v8 vs v7 — made her skin oil up and break out again. This botanical complex is dosed at the concentration that worked for the most sensitised skin in testing — not the minimum that could still appear on a label.
Soothing Cleansing Gel has two origin stories. Both start with a problem no existing product could solve.
Part 1: Jasmine’s search for a makeup remover that didn’t break her out. Micellar water left her skin oily again within hours of cleansing. Cleansing oils caused breakouts. Milk cleansers didn’t feel clean. Jasmine couldn’t find a single makeup remover on the market that thoroughly removed her sunscreen and makeup without triggering rebound oiliness or pimples on her sensitive acne-prone skin. The only solution was to formulate her own. After many rounds of trials, she identified a plant-based surfactant system that did both: removed everything properly and left skin balanced. She then layered in botanical extracts for soothing and hydration benefits. That was Version 7 (v7).
Part 2: The story of Irene. Jasmine sent v7 to fellow acne fighters for testing. Irene was one of them — her skin barrier had been severely compromised by harsh skincare products. Within 3 days of using v7, her skin cleared up and she could stay matte much longer. Jasmine then developed v8, which was identical to v7 in every way except for a slight reduction in botanical extract concentration — a small adjustment she wanted to test. The original formula used turmeric and French pine bark extract. My skin is sensitive and breakout easily. Followed the instructions to test Glow Exfoliant and Clarifying Serum.
I literally can see my bumps flattening with Cl. Serum on my R side and the bumps became more inflamed with Glow Exf on my L side. After stopping Glow Exf. and using Cl.Serum, the redness and the pimples subsided.
No wonder I couldn’t clear my acne and some pdts break me out bad. Now, I know not to use acids. I’m hopeful that Cl. Serum can help clear my acne with longer usage.

It’s my holy grail for my daily routine. I have super oily skin with oil coming out an hour or two after washing my face previously, sensitive red patches, dry but oily skin, big pimples with pus. The new cleansing gel is like a miracle to me. I have been using so many products from expensive brands to no brands skincare products but none of it work as amazing as this. It is so gentle on my face that it’s so squeaky clean after washing my face with it and yet it does not have the tight feeling at all. I have never feel so amazed before! It’s like a mini face spa with the nice smell that comes along with which makes me truly enjoy washing my face every time. It controls the oil, my face can stand matte for hours and I would only need to blot once a day to keep it fresh till the end of the day. It reduced my face redness and I realised acne starts to decrease in size every morning. I would urge people like me to try it out. Trust me, it’s worth every single cent you spend on this, truly a match in heaven together with the hydrating serum.

At first i did not know whether the new soothing cleansing gel is suitable for my skin so i requested for a mini of it.
For a person who does not wear any makeup i use this cleansing gel as a daily cleanser.
So far I realise not much new grown pimples which is a good thing but my skin is still oily. Probably need to try it longer to see more improvements on my skin.
This soothing cleansing gel is little pricey. I really hope skinlycious can consider having a good bundle deal with hydrating serum & glow exfoliant for acne battlers.

Though I still get the occasional little zits, perhaps it’s because I still do not have a proper cleanser/gel to thoroughly remove the sunscreen since this soothing cleansing gel was still in the pipelines last month. I have just received it today and am excited to use it. But the main reason why I’m writing this review is that Jasmine and her team have gone over and beyond the usual customer service. Sweet!
