When Acne is caused by Sensitive Skin

Our starter kits work for most people, but if you have sensitive skin, you need to build up your skin barrier first before using acne-fighting ingredients. These ingredients can irritate your skin and make acne worse.

Our Solution B was developed with Irene, who had damaged skin barrier from harsh anti-acne products. We found that our Soothing Cleansing Gel with the right amount of Turmeric and French Pine Bark Extracts helped reduce Irene’s skin sensitivity, redness and acne.

When your Acne is caused by Clogged Pores

Most people’s acne are caused by clogged pores. Clogged pores usually happen when there’s excessive sebum production and/or when one’s skin cell turnover is slower.
There’s multiple different reasons for clogged pores and everybody’s acne could be of different reasons but with our clear skin starter kits, we will be able to address most if not all of these causes at their root.
To achieve clear skin faster, Skinlycious half face test was developed together with our starter kits.
For the first 5 days, use the spot correctors (Glow Exfoliant and Clarifying Serum) separately on one side of your face to identify your suitable spot corrector.

Why the Need for The Half Face Test?

Everyone’s acne is different and the half-face test will save you time and money by allowing you to discover what combination works best for you in only one week.

The results from the half-face test help you move forward with the best skincare routine for your particular skin type. In the image below, you’ll see how important this is. The acne on one side is clearing up, but the acne on the other appears just as inflamed as it was before, giving the user a path forward towards clear skin

 

To Get The Best Results

  • Use twice daily for the first 5 days in the morning and evening.
  • If your acne is not distributed on the left and right side of your face, you can apply the spot correctors separately on upper/lower face, or on different parts of the face to test Glow Exfoliant and Clarifying Serum separately.
  • If all products are suitable, use Steps 1,2,3,4 on the whole face morning and evening.
  • Otherwise, continue to use the routine that worked best for you in the first 5 days.
  • If both are not suitable, we still have a plan B for you.
 

PLAN B

When your Acne is caused by Sensitive Skin

Most of you will see improvements after using the Starter Kit for 7 days.
However, a small percentage of acne fighters who have more sensitive skin with weakened skin barrier will need to stop both spot correctors and rebuild their skin barrier to see results. Using spot correctors might irritate your skin even more worsening the acne condition.
You can build up your skin barrier by using our Soothing Cleansing Gel in conjunction with our moisturisers. See Combination 1 or 2 below.

Plan B is based on the success from one of our fellow acne fighter, Irene.
While trying to help Irene, we accidentally discovered a solution for breakouts due to skin sensitivity. It’s all right down to the concentration of the encapsulated turmeric and french pine bark extract in Soothing Cleansing Gel. More details under Description of Soothing Cleansing Gel.

Try just cleansing and moisturising for a week without using any other products.

If your skin condition gets better, you can:

Gradually introduce one products at a time to your routine
Test for 5 days for possible allergic breakouts. If skin condition worsens, take out the product from your routine and follow previous routine.
