3 Reasons This Kit Actually Works
Most acne products sit at one of two extremes. Harsh treatments strip and dry out the skin, clearing acne in the short term while damaging the barrier that keeps it from coming back. Mild treatments feel comfortable but aren’t potent enough to actually clear the acne. Neither works long-term.
This kit is built on a different principle: be gentle on the overall skin, and potent only where the acne is. Every product in the Skinlycious range is formulated to be soothing, barrier-supporting, and non-disruptive.
Only the spot treatment, Glow Exfoliant, carries the acne-fighting actives — applied directly to the blemish, not blanket-spread across the whole face.
Calming Cleanser resets skin without disrupting pH. Hydrating Serum balances sebum production, so skin becomes less oily over time, while strengthening the NMF barrier.
The result: skin that gets genuinely clearer over time — not skin that’s temporarily dried out and fighting back.
Acne is rarely caused by one thing. Most one-product solutions only address one layer of the problem — and that’s why they work for a while, then stop. This kit covers all three.
Skin that lacks water overproduces oil to compensate — feeding the very cycle causing breakouts. By replenishing water with oil-free humectants, the serum rebalances sebum production so skin becomes genuinely less oily over time. Sodium PCA and 15 amino acids rebuild the Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) — depleted by acne, harsh treatments, and ageing — so the barrier becomes progressively more resilient. For oily and acne-prone skin, it acts as the sole moisturiser — oil-free, weightless, and with zero pore congestion.

Our founder spent 14 years battling acne before she found what worked — a cleanser and exfoliant from her dermatologist, and a hydrating serum from her aesthetic doctor. Jasmine combined the three, and her skin finally cleared. This kit is that exact combination, refined and made accessible.
Most cleansers on the market would throw Jasmine’s skin balance off completely — within 2–3 hours of washing, her skin would turn oily, not because of how much sebum she naturally produced, but because the cleanser had stripped her skin into overcompensating. With the right formulation, she discovered, her skin could stay matte the whole day.
Cleansers and sunscreen are, by far, the two hardest products to formulate for Jasmine’s acne-prone, oily-prone, sensitive skin. The cleanser’s formula has been refined multiple times based on real community feedback, with every change in service of one goal.
One example: when a tea tree oil addition caused breakouts in long-time users, it was removed immediately. Skinlycious has been essential-oil-free ever since.

Every moisturiser decision you’ve ever made — too greasy, too heavy, broke me out, not enough — comes down to one thing: the balance between water and oil in your skin.
Your skin needs both. Water keeps cells plump, resilient, and balanced. Oil seals that water in and protects the barrier. When that ratio is right for your skin type, the visible signs of imbalance — rough texture, frequent breakouts, reactive sensitivity — have less reason to show up.
It overproduces oil to compensate — causing oilier skin, clogged pores, and breakouts. Oily skin is often dehydrated. Dehydrated skin can also flake and become reactive, even if it doesn’t feel dry.
It can’t hold onto moisture regardless of how much you apply. You’ll experience tightness, flaking, itchiness, and a weakened barrier — leaving skin vulnerable to skin issues like eczema. This is especially common in cold or dry climates.

However, we recommend a gradual start to ensure the best results.
Step 1: The Test Phase
Before daily use, start with our Starter Kit and perform a half-face test. This helps you see whether the acid-based Glow Exfoliant (GE) or vitamin-based Clarifying Serum (CS) works better to flatten your existing breakouts.
Step 2: Once we identified the right spot treatment, it’s active correction.
• Cleansing & Hydrating: You can use our Calming Cleanser (CC) and Hydrating Serum (HS) more than twice a day if needed — especially after heavy sweating during PE or CCA.
• Spot Treating: Apply Glow Exfoliant to active breakouts twice daily. Spot treating only once a day is not effective for neutralizing acne bacteria.
Step 3: Maintenance Mode Once your acne has cleared, you can adjust your routine:
• Stop Spot Treating: You no longer need GE on specific spots daily.
• Daily Essentials: Continue using the Calming Cleanser and Hydrating Serum daily; they are gentle, safe, and designed to keep skin balanced. It’s recommended to add on Sunscreen.
• Weekly Glow: To prevent future clogs and maintain clear skin, use the Glow Exfoliant for full-face exfoliation just once a week at night for teens. For adults, we can do 2-3x a week at night.
You’ll notice small wins quickly, but true transformation takes time.
• 1 Day: Whiteheads and tiny bumps often begin to flatten or reduce with twice-daily use.
• 5 Days: You should notice a visible reduction in oiliness and redness
• 28 Days: This is the length of a full skin cell cycle; expect more significant improvements in texture.
• 2–3 Months: Consistent use is key—this is the typical timeframe for achieving completely clear skin, especially when dealing with stubborn blackheads or cystic acne.
Maintain Your Glow: Once your skin clears, we recommend continuing this routine to maintain your results. If you are breakout-prone, regular exfoliation is essential to prevent future clogs and keep acne at bay. Consistency is the key to staying clear!
It depends on how you are using it! To get the best results without irritating your skin, follow these guidelines:
• As a Spot Treatment: Yes, use it twice daily. To effectively target and neutralize acne-causing bacteria, consistency is key. Applying it directly to breakouts twice a day ensures the treatment remains effective.
• For Full-Face Exfoliation: No, do not use it daily. For an all-over glow and to prevent future clogs, we recommend using it only 2–3 times a week at night. > Pro Tip: Over-exfoliating the entire face can lead to sensitivity. Stick to the “less is more” rule for full-face application, and save the daily use for those stubborn individual spots!
Both kits include Calming Cleanser and Hydrating Serum. The difference is the spot corrector. The Potent Kit uses Glow Exfoliant — a BHA + AHA formula ideal for deep pore-clearing and exfoliation. The Hydrate Kit uses Clarifying Serum — a Vitamin C + Vitamin B3 formula for skin that prefers a vitamin-based approach without acids. They address the same concerns through different mechanisms, for different skin types.
