Does wearing eyeglasses cause acne?

1 min read

No, eyewear does not cause acne, bacteria in your glasses does.
If you frequently get pimples on the areas of your face that come in contact with your frames, make sure you allow your skin to heal. Take breaks from wearing your glasses if possible.

Doctors says to clean your glasses throughout the day. If you truly want to combat your acne, clean them twice a day.
That means the earpieces, which can get oily from your hair and spread on to your face, the bridge of your glasses, the nose pads. You can use basic alcohol wipes and swabbing it over every part that touches your face. If you can wash your glasses, opt for using lukewarm water and disinfecting soap. Then dry them out with a soft cloth.

Aside from cleaning your glasses, use a gentle facial wash. Skinlycious Calming Cleanser removes grime and dead skin cells without leaving it dry or irritated.

Then use a spot treatment. Skinlycious Glow Exfoliant breaks down pimples and blackheads. If you are allergic to salicylic acid/aspirin or pregnant, or is averse to peeling, our Blemish Corrector is a non-peeling, non-drying vitamins-based treatment.

Use a makeup remover before cleansing. The buildup of makeup under your glasses can definitely contribute to acne, so it’s important to make sure it’s all off—with the help of a makeup remover. Skinlycious Soothing Cleansing Gel removes waterproof makeup and grime without disturbing the balance of your skin, hydrates and strengthens skin barrier and relieves redness
